Some www’s for you….

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

GavinNoble.com I would imagine you have already been a regular reader, and if not, why not? The newest member of our small, but every growing tri-web family (otherwise know as the Nekada Triathlon Team) is the ever endearing Irishman Gavin Noble, known for his tact, and his ability to beat around the bush. Em, NOT. – He says it as it is, and […]

Back on track. I think.

Monday, March 30th, 2009

My first full week of training here in California is done. It’s been a busy week. But I think I have got back on track in terms of swim, bike and crucially, run. I have been struggling with a niggly pain in my lower leg for a few weeks now – ‘I am running, I’m not […]

A ride in the hills.

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I had my first longer ride for quite some time today; 4+ hours…… it has been a good month or more since I crept into those digits. South Africa seems many moons ago! Faced with a choice of bike now (it’s a tough life) I opted for my AR1 (again!) as I am really loving […]

Only in the States ….?

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

There is a lady who comes every lunchtime to walk the dog – Harely – who justifies a post all to himself some time, but anyway, it was only yesterday that I actually met said lady, given I am usually out training – and I HAD to take a picture of her car. As I […]

Ta da!!

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

I don’t want to go on and on about this, but me getting these new bikes is way cool!! So, I am showing you MORE pictures of them – now as the finished articles. Well, not quite, since I need some tubs to go on the race wheels for the TT bike….but i’m not racing […]

New Felt frames

Friday, March 20th, 2009

I headed down to the bike shop this afternoon to have a proper look at my new framesets, and generally get excited about all the new stuff! I should have at least one of them ready to ride (and show you) tomorrow. But for now, have a look….

Miami International Triathlon 2009

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Today I raced an olympic distance event in Miami. Non drafting. I finished 8th place in 1.52.16. It was a tough day at the office as they say, but a solid start to the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

The South African experience is drawing to a close.

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

The South African experience is drawing to a close. This time next week it will be ‘this way to depatures’.

Profile Design

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I’m really pleased to say that I have just signed with Profile Design for this 2009 season. I will be racing in their wetsuits and – for the warmer swims – speed suits. I will also be using their aerobottles, bottles cages and other hydration components.

Compression by SLS3

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

I have been making very good use of my compression socks during the past 10 days….. which is exactly how long I have had some out here in Stellenbosch, since I forgot to bring my own when I flew initially.

TYR Sport

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I am excited to announce that this week I signed with TYR Sports as my Apparel sponsor for the 2009 season.

Florida bound

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

I’m all packed and I’m yet again on the move; to St Petersburg, Florida. There is just one week left till the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, and I am heading over to the same great homestay I enjoyed last time with Carolyn, and also Julie Dibens. We were there in Arpil […]

Today I mostly…… visited Encinitas

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Encinitas is down by the beach, about 15 miles away from Escondido – where i stay whilst here in CA. It’s a pretty little town, quaint almost, and for me it typifies everything that California seemed to mean as depicted by the vision (tv) whilst growing up. And what better a depiction of Californian life […]

I’ve been training. Honest.

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

I’ve not written in a while, largely due to my (only 5 months old!) laptop deciding it didn’t want to switch on, but also because I’ve been trying to cram. A bit like when you have an exam coming up and you haven’t done the revision (it always seemed to be vision for me, not […]
