Auckland Ironman 70.3, Asia-Pacific Champs

It’s approaching 2 weeks past the event, but Auckland was the first of two races in this epic round the world adventure that I have undertaken over these last 4 weeks. I am now in California and getting ready to embark on the next round – Panama 70.3, which is the Latin American Ironman 70.3 Championships, this coming Sunday.


Crossing the finish line in Auckland in 10th position. I was (and am) quite happy and content with the performance. I could be pedantic and admit that top 8 was my goal for the race, but it was a very good field, and its been quite some time since I was competitive in any event, let alone one such as this. Blue Seventy photos in Auckland

Blue Seventy used the opportunity of having a number of their athletes arriving in the one spot wisely by organising a series of photo sessions over the course of the Asia Pacific 70.3 race weekend in Auckland the other weekend there.

It seems an eternity ago that these photos were taken, but it really wasn’t much more than 10 days past. It was at a salt water pool just off the run course on the water front that we met photographer Brendon O’Hagan for a fun couple of hours in the water.

Travelling again. Next stop – Auckland

As is always the case when you are enjoying yourself, the tick tock tick of time seems to simply fly by. As such my time here in Tasmania is up and it’s time to leave after a fantastic couple of weeks down here. It’s been a superb training block and chance to visit a new part of the world all rolled into the one. Really enjoyable.


We have had some cracker views on our rides out here – Joe has done is level best to give me as much of a ‘Tassie Tour by bike’ as was possible. Ta!
