I’m back in Stirling, or as we have affectionately named it since the Lord Of The Rings trilogy – The Shire – and I’m back into my staple bread and butter sessions. I’m feeling much much more settled already due to that. As much as it is great being in places like California and Florida, [...]

Today Blair and I visited one of my best friends – Mike, who I haven’t seen since September – as he and Jenni have had a new addition to the family. Littel Isobel. Last time I say Mike and Jenni they told me they were expecting…. and all of a sudden 6 months has blown by. [...]

I got up this morning for swimming to a view out of the window which showed white white white; the snow was here once again. I didn’t get out on the mtb, and neither did Blair (today), but he did the other week when the snow was last on the ground. - A bit of a difference to the [...]

I apologise for the tardiness of my blog post. I left Stellenbosch a week and two days ago, and have only just found some time to try and catch up since returning late Monday. As the title suggests, there has been a lot happening in my world over the past 10 days; some lovely highs [...]

My downtime has all but reached its endpoint; I have been home in Stirling for nearly 2 weeks and in 2 more days I will boarding a BA flight to Cape Town, so that I can spend the next 3 months in Stellenbosch… I’m a lucky person.

Here are a few shots that Iain from www.imacimages.co.uk took of us a couple weeks back. From right to left; Alun Woodward, myself, Toby Jameson and Graeme Stewart. All except Graeme are racing in Clearwater at the World Championship Ironman 70.3 in just under 3 weeks time.

….for a chuckle.
I’m sitting in Houston Intercontinental Airport. Tired, bored, and fed up with the prospect of yet another flight onwards to San Diego. It’s been a long 20hours or so since I got out of bed this morning (or yesterday?) – Stirling. Edinburgh Airport. New York Newark Airport – where the Customs and Border [...]

Today us at TotalRacingInt.com had ourselves a few photies on the shore of loch Venachar, not so far away from Stirling. It was sunny, for the most part, but oh so brrrr. Autumn is here for sure.

Sunshine. It happens en Ecosse you know….
Nearly October? Swimming in the sea, and in SCOTLAND??
Yup, needs must, and well, I hadn’t raced a Championship event at home this year. Plus, David had won two events this year already, so I figured he’d had enough already!! Just kidding. Well, not really.

I was in the cinema the other evening and saw a short little Orange advert about him (you can’t go to the cinema anywhere in the world without seeing something ‘Orange’). It charts the journey of Mark Beaumont – from Scotland no less – as he circumnavigated the globe on his bicylce faster than anyone [...]

Where is the pontoon going?
I last raced at the Bala triathlon in 2001, as a not-so-fast-junior. Yesterday I raced as a not-so-fast-senior!
