Woohoo! I won! It was 2 years and 3 attempts coming, but I secured a victory in East London on Sunday finally - and it felt good for sure. It’s not easy to win a race these days, so I am more than happy with how I coped on race day to do just that.

I just got a couple of nice images from the weekend drop into the inbox. - Inside the last 5k of the bike, as I took the race lead. Pity I didn’t hold onto it for a bit longer ….. I’m working on that though. As Toby would say “drop ‘em like they’re hot”.

I wanted to keep everybody posted on whats going on… he is enjoying the mountains very much so he is a bit quiet.

Whilst I was continuing my aquaintance with the rare air there was a lot of superb racing happening in Europe (and a bit in the US too!) - makes you want to get out there first thing in the morning and rip it up. Well, at least get out of bed early….

Despite racing over the 70.3 distance last weekend I had a plan b for this weekend if the legs felt willing … thankfully by Saturday morning they had started to come around and by Sunday morning they felt like my own once again. Just.

Today I raced an olympic distance event in Miami. Non drafting. I finished 8th place in 1.52.16. It was a tough day at the office as they say, but a solid start to the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

I was out on the bike course for the Miami International Triathlon yesterday evening, and I came up behind a group of guys, which prompted me to take a picture, cos you just wouldn’t see it in many other places I doubt!! It is after all only March.
