The last few days have been pretty busy and hectic, what with getting back from Florida later on Tuesday night than i had hoped (i was delay-ed in Dallas…) which threw me all off kilter in my schedule. Not that i had a terribly lock tight schedule, but I did have to be at LAX [...]

Just a quick race update from this morning here in St Petersburg – 14th place, 1:53:16. My leg didn’t hurt either (well, they collectively ‘hurt’ as a pair, but my sore spot didn’t hurt!) – and that is progress in the land-of-Fraser right now, let me tell you. (And I even outsplit the fastest girl on [...]

My and Toby Jameson (my solo partner in crime out here since Julie ‘Dibs’ Dibens - or Deeeedens as they say out here - has cracked a rib and declined to join the gang this time around) got out and did a little bicycling this morning. I think I found the joke a little funnier than he [...]

I arrived in Florida later on last night, happy to step off the plane to yet another warm climate. Spoilt … that’s what I have become!

I’ve been racking up the miles; the Felt(s) and I have become much better friends over the past 10 days, which is no bad thing. The running still isn’t happening – but I am aiming for shuffling along once more by this w/e, providing the physio gives me the go ahead.

….Pancakes.
It would be safe to say that they rank up there in my top five favourite foods, I just try not to eat them too often, for I know I will end up wanting them everyday – especially here in the States. I’d just tucked away a solid 5k swim with the masters swim squad in [...]

Running – it’s been on my mind a lot lately, since I mostly can’t do it very much right now. It’s getting there, but in the meantime, I came across this cracking piece of footage again, as it’s been a while since I last watched it.
Watch in awe, as they are truly motoring!

There is a really good slide show of the race on the Triathlete home page. I am in there a few times, plus there is a short video recap too. The pictures are at Triathlon.Competitor.com and the video is here:

Unfortunately I am reporting a DNF from the race today in Oceanside, however, on the plus side of things I had a great swim/bike out there which has given me a good indication of how I am travelling right now. I have had a problem in my lower leg for a month now, and although [...]

So the day before the race (the evening in fact, lets be honest) I get the rig ‘ready’ to go. I met up with the guys from Shimano today whilst I was down at the bike shop (store here in the USofA) and they were showing me the new electronic gearing being brought out later [...]
